A Champion Team

Team Tony achieves high performance through discipline, structure and integrity – and with that comes trust.

High performance is nothing new for Tony Warren and Tony Kemp. In the past they have excelled in their respective careers where, on all levels, discipline, resilience and integrity have been the minimum requirements. It is no wonder their decision to form Team Tony developed intuitively.

For Tony Kemp, aiming high has long been a way of life. He has performed on the world stage of sport, representing Aotearoa New Zealand in rugby league and coaching and playing professionally – so he knows what it takes to get results.

Kemp says, “Throughout my time playing professional rugby league and representing my country, discipline was paramount at all times. It included developing and maintaining high level physical and mental fitness, remaining focussed under pressure; both on and off the sports field; once mastered, it stays with you. This discipline prepared me exceptionally well for planning, strategy and achieving goals.

He adds, “Joining Ray White Damerell Group and teaming up with my friend and colleague, Tony Warren, brings me great satisfaction. Warren’s knowledge of this industry is one thing, but our shared values and the trust we have for each other is what’s vitally important to me.

“For us it is more than just ‘selling’ real estate. It’s imperative we continue to put structures and disciplines into place that ensure the best interests of our buyers and vendors are met. This includes 100% performance from every aspect of marketing, to open homes, negotiations and auction, ensuring our attention to detail is exceptional; leaving no stone unturned.”

“Our clients are in safe hands and, fundamentally; we know who we work for.”

After a 10-year career in the New Zealand Defence Force, Tony Warren joined Ray White Damerell Group in 2015, bringing with him a high level of negotiation and organisational skill sets. He successfully implements these skills with each campaign.

Warren says, “Without question, the Defence Force taught me so much and has undoubtedly shaped my character and personality traits. I know what hard work looks like. I did a bit of travel with the Defence Force, so I know how blessed we are to live in this beautiful country. The Defence Force gave me a robust appreciation of what it means to be diligent and set high standards for oneself and one's business, in all respects, every time.”

He adds, “I believe that grit and resilience are essential characteristics of all successful people and teams - in any industry. When you let go of the ego, believe in the process and just seek to help people, success flows naturally.”

“People can tell when you genuinely love what you do. It rings true and trumps a lack of sincerity any day of the week,” says Warren.

Warren explains, “Vendors need to know in their gut that every possible lead is being pursued, be that via innovative and traditional marketing methods or during the execution of the campaign itself. In every campaign we can achieve this with the support of our robust administration team.”

“We are very fortunate to work with Ray White Damerell Group. It all starts with people, and the management, support staff and wider team are second to none. We've got a great team culture so that makes it a fun and healthy place to work. And this fits well with our clearly defined team values.”

“As Team Tony our values of ‘Integrity and Excellence' are more than a saying; it is the foundation for everything we do, and how we do it. If our values resonate with you, we could be a good fit.”

For Warren and Kemp, their values don’t remain locked away inside the workplace, they extend into their personal lives too. Personal success for them is maintaining physical fitness and connectedness in all aspects of life and no more so than time spent with family.

Warren says, “I am blessed with an amazing niece and nephew, my godson and my girlfriend’s niece. Add to that a 'food bucket-list’, where the rules are that I add one to the list and tick one off each year - that's incredibly fun to plan and execute. If you don't have health and happiness, you either can't or don't enjoy what you've got.”

Kemp and his partner have four children between them. His son is a fourth year law student and his daughter is an honours student at AUT. The younger two children are at high school and intermediate locally.

Kemps says, “I am immensely proud of my children and my family means everything to me. I have a huge appetite for wanting to give back to my community and I am tūturu (staunchly) – Māori proud!
