As part of the festivities, and also to celebrate and recognise the diversity of its own people, Ray White Damerell Group has launched its annual Fabulous February campaign. While the threat of Omicron has seen many of the planned events, including the annual Pride parade cancelled, Damerell Group are doing their bit to celebrate diversity and inclusion both in the workplace and the community. The team were all asked what was important to them about Pride, inclusion and diversity.
Gower Buchanan, Director of Damerell Group, says it was a natural fit for the whole company to get behind the Fabulous February initiative, as many of his team identify with the Rainbow community.
"As a business leader I want everyone in my team to feel supported, included and most importantly feel that they can be themselves." says Gower. "It’s also important to recognise our Pride community within the Greater Ponsonby neighbourhood and bring awareness to being an inclusive society."
While pride month is a fantastic celebration we also want to be sure that we are carrying this messaging through in our daily lives throughout the remainder of the year.
For Ponsonby salesperson, Campbell Orr, Pride month is a time to remember those in the community that have gone before and fought for recognition. It’s also a time to celebrate how far we have come as a society but also to realise that we still have work to do.
